About this piece
Ich ruf' zu dir is a chorale by Johann Agricola, who lived from 1492 to 1566, first printed in 1539. The words are by Johann Agricola. Here the choir's four parts are set on two staves for piano, soprano and alto in the right hand and tenor and bass in the left.
How to play it
Play it as four singers rather than as chords: let the top line sing, keep the bass steady, and move the inner voices smoothly. Choose a calm tempo you can hold from the first bar to the last, and breathe at the ends of the phrases.
