About this piece
Ye children of Jesus, who're bound for the kingdom (TRANSPORT) is a hymn tune by an unknown composer, and it was printed in 1813 in Wyeth's Repository. A folk hymn (Lowens 1964, Music 2005). Here the choir's three parts are set on two staves for piano, the top voice in the right hand and the two lower voices in the left. As in the old American tunebooks, the tune itself is sung by the tenors, so listen for it in the upper line of the left hand.
How to play it
Listen for each of the three voices as its own line, and let none of them drop out when the texture thins. Keep the two beats in each bar light and steady.
