About this piece
Ye boundless realms of joy (PUMPILY) is a psalm tune by William Billings, who lived from 1746 to 1800, and it was printed in 1770 in The New-England Psalm-Singer. First published in The New-England Psalm-Singer, 1770; revised considerably in 1778, changing the rhythm, 3/2 to cut time. Here the choir's four parts are set on two staves for piano, soprano and alto in the right hand and tenor and bass in the left.
How to play it
Hold every note its full length so the voices overlap as a choir's would, and lift only where a singer would breathe. Count it in two, with a calm half note pulse.
