Learn rhythm by playing it, not by counting it
Rhythm is the half of music that most players never study, and it is the half that makes you sound like a musician. This is a free rhythm trainer that plays a bar, asks you to tap it back, and scores what you actually played against what was written.

What it does
Forty-nine levels across eight stages, from a plain four-beat bar through dotted notes, rests, triplets, sixteenths and syncopation. Two voices run at once, a steady pulse and the rhythm over it, so you learn to hold time rather than chase it. Tap with the spacebar, a MIDI pad or the screen.
- 49 levels across eight stages, each one a real skill
- Scored on your timing, not just on the right notes
- A steady pulse under every exercise, so you learn to hold time
- Reads standard notation: what you practise is what a score looks like
- Free, in the browser, with nothing to install
Rhythm on the page is only half of reading it. The symbol dictionary explains every other mark a score will throw at you, and the free sheet music library is where you go to use it.
